The newest athletic facility at Lubbock Christian University is nearing completion as the fall semester begins, and the newest version of the Lady Chaps makes it way to campus for the first time.

The LCU softball field, tentatively titled PCB Park thanks to a generous donation from Plains Capital Bank, sits at the corner of 26th and Eileen, and Head Coach Shanon Hays' team has already made use of the facility as fall drills have begun.

PCB features seating capacity for around 300 spectators, between the stadium and bleacher seating, and the area behind the outfield wall has berm seating for many more in the shade of the trees which serve as the hitters' backdrop.

The full-size covered dugouts are nearly finished, as are the batting cages, which sit down the left field line.

The press box has seating for as many as nine and is equipped with both traditional phone and data lines. As the final touches are added to the facility in the next few weeks, the sound system, public address microphone, and inning-by-inning scoreboard will be installed.

Yet to be constructed are the ticket booth and concession stand, which should both be finished prior to the Lady Chaps' home opener next February, and there are talks of a clubhouse being built in the next couple of years.
