EDMOND, OK - After a week in which the Lubbock Christian University volleyball team went a perfect 4-0 at the Hughes-Wesleyan Classic, a pair of Lady Chaps garnered recognition for their individual performances.

Sophomore setter Rachel Stuyvesant and sophomore libero Courtney Yonke were named both the Sooner Athletic Conference and NAIA Region VI Setter and Libero of the Week, respectively.

For Stuyvesant, this is her second SAC and second Region VI selection this season, and for Yonke, this is her second SAC and first Region VI selection of 2007.

Stuyvesant, a graduate of Sandia High School in Albuquerque, N.M., handed out 164 assists, averaging 12.62 per game, and she was third on the team in digs with 42 and third on the team in blocks with six.

Yonke, a local product from nearby Lubbock Coronado High School, scooped up a team-high 104 digs, averaging an even 8.0 per game.

The Lady Chaps spent the weekend in Fort Worth, where they defeated College of the Ozarks (MO) and Belhaven College (MS) on Friday before knocking off Lindsey-Wilson (KY) and host Texas Wesleyan University on Saturday.

Lubbock Christian will resume play tonight when they travel to Canyon to take on West Texas A&M University at 7:00 pm, and the Lady Chaps will open Sooner Athletic Conference play this weekend when they host Oklahoma City University at 7:00 pm on Friday, before playing Southern Nazarene University at 2:00 pm on Saturday.
