Christmas has come and gone, New Year's resolutions have been made and Lubbock Christian University is gearing up for another jam-packed semester. Student Senate is up and going again in full force, ready for another great semester. Like last semester we are busy planning many events as well as helping with various things going on around our campus. There are many events to look forward to, as the semester goes on.

With our first meeting of the new semester happening last week, Senate started planning many of the events that will take place this semester. One of these is the beloved "TWIRP Week." Of course, the week will include events such as coke and nacho, and Alpha Chi Devotional, but will also include other events such as a themed basketball game. This week is scheduled to take place February 18-22. Planning is also underway for "Spiritual Renewal Week," another long standing LCU tradition. March 24-28 is when this week of praise, worship and great speakers will take place. Be on the lookout for more details concerning both of these events the closer they get.

Student Senate is also helping with the "Homecoming Kickoff Party," on February 7th. This is going to be a fun time for students to come, have desserts, drink hot chocolate and mingle with each other. There will also be prizes given out, but you must be present to win!

This semester, Student Senate also hopes to do more service projects, such as going to nursing homes, and working with the food bank. We are also hoping to see the "Turkey Run" take place later in the semester, with all proceeds from that benefiting the South Plains Food Bank.

We hope that each of you has a great semester!
