Lubbock Christian University third baseman Alejandra "Honda" Rodriguez and St. Gregory's University pitcher Sharon Bell and are Sooner Athletic Conference Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, for Feb. 18-24.

Rodriguez, a junior from Andrews, led the Lady Chaps to a 3-1 week, including a split with top-ranked Oklahoma City University. She batted .700 for the week with a 1.300 slugging percentage. Rodriguez had four runs, three doubles, a home run and four runs batted in.

Bell, a junior from Perth, Australia, was 5-0 in the circle for the Lady Cavaliers, with a save. She fanned 59 batters in 34.2 innings with an ERA of 0.40 for the week.

The Lady Chaps (5-1) return to Sooner Athletic Conference action this weekend as they host Oklahoma Christian in a pair of single games. The series begins at 12:00 noon on Friday (2/29) and concludes at 12:00 noon on Saturday. Also in town to face the Lady Chaps for the weekend are non-conference foes Friends University (Friday, 2:00 pm), University of Houston-Victoria (Saturday, 4:00 pm) and Bacone College (Sunday, 1:00 pm, doubleheader). All games this weekend will take place at PlainsCapital Park.
