Was this your destination during Spring Break?

Long, sandy white beaches. Crystal blue water reflecting the perfect, cloudless sky. Does that sound like your Spring Break? Nope, doesn't sound like mine either!

Take away the beautiful beaches and replace them with mounds of red dirt. Instead of vast oceans and clear skies, how about brown puddles from the steady rain God granted us. I'm not complaining. I was an absolute "bum" during Spring Break. All I did was hang out with my family and a few friends from back home. Oh, and I ate … a lot! While some people did get to soak up the sun, and some were lazy, many others had different plans for Spring Break. Here are a few:

Freshman Nalaura Bassett said: " I went on a mission trip with Christ in Action. We got to go to Charlottesville, VA; Nashville, TN; and Washington D.C. It was amazing, and I got to meet new people. We shared our life stories and did service projects."

Criminal Justice major Phillip Cortez is one among the many who worked during his Spring Break.

Trisha DeMoss said: "I stayed in Lubbock and worked at a Spring Break camp that Bodyworks put together for 5-12 year olds. I also worked on some papers and caught up on some errands I neglected to do the weeks leading up to Spring Break."

Lee Edwards went to the Houston Live Stock Show and Palo Duro Canyon.

Senior Nancy Carpenter definitely got to soak up some sun. "I went to a wedding in Laguana Beach, CA and stayed the whole week. I got to hang out in Hollywood, L.A., Orange County, San Diego, and Venice Beach. It was AWESOME!!"

Shane Wright and Brittany King had quite an eventful Spring Break … they got engaged. Congratulations!!
