With the semester coming quickly to an end, Student Senate is still as busy as ever. Spiritual Renewal Week just came and went with great success. The theme for the week was "HisSpace, A Place For Him."

Students were encouraged to come each night to hear a different speaker present this topic. The week opened with Scott Jarvis. Jarvis kicked off the week in a very energetic way, and reminded us to keep our priorities straight. Rob Watkins joined us on Tuesday. We were led by him in a wonderful time of worship and thought as he talked about giving each room of our "house" to God. Wednesday we were honored to have Dr. Jones come speak at Alpha Chi Devo. As always Dr. Jones presented a wonderful lesson that challenged us to live a life devoted fully to Christ. Thursday, it was Rex Boyles' turn to speak. The week came to a close with the viewing of the new "Voices of Darfur" movie, and a concert. Mark Tatum and his band were on site to lead the group present in songs of worship and praise. Overall, the week was a great success. Thank you to all who came out to hear each of the speakers.

In the next couple of weeks senate will still be busy as always. Stress Relief Week is coming up April 21-24. This week will include relaxation chapel, a prayer room, and of course, the pancake supper and more. Everyone should plan on coming to these stress free events right before finals start.

Student Senate is also getting ready to hold elections for senators for next year. Applications are currently being accepted. Applications are due on April 11th, for anyone wanting to run for an executive office or general senate position. Elections will be during chapel time on April 17th and 21st. Executive officers will give speeches on April 17th, and general senators will be voted on during chapel on April 21st.

One of Senate's last big projects of the semester is the "senate gift." Each year Student Senate allots a certain amount of money to go towards a gift presented to the student body. A few gifts from past years include wireless in the dorms and lounge area in the cafeteria. Many ideas have been thrown out at the past couple of meetings and a final decision is in the works.

Student Senate hopes that everyone has a great rest of the semester!
